We are anchored here at Macapa, Brazil, the entrance port for the Amazon. Amazingly, the river is nearly 80' deep, and perhaps 10 miles wide! Several US and Brazilian Diplomats have just boarded.... they'll be orienting us to Brazil over the next two days as we travel upriver to Manaus. We are also taking on supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Beatrix is taking final exams today and tomorrow..... History, French, English, Geometry.
